The Hot and Bothered campaign rallied the community and ignited a conversation about menopause, bringing it out of the shadows and into the spotlight like never before. From October 9 to December 3, 2024, we launched a movement to break the stigma, raise awareness and ensure women receive the care they deserve before, during and after menopause by building a world-class centre. And the impact has been extraordinary!

An event that changed the conversation
The inaugural Cause for the ‘Pause event, presented by Rogers, brought together over 200 guests for an afternoon of thought-provoking discussion, myth busting and knowledge sharing about the realities of menopause.
Event co-chairs Maxine Granovsky Gluskin, Suzanne Rogers and Victoria Webster set out to spotlight the often-overlooked health needs of women and to raise crucial funds to improve access to menopause information and care. Both goals were accomplished, with more than $630,000 raised in support of the Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health, and CityNews on location to amplify the event’s message and impact.
From Montreal to Australia: A global reach
The impact of Hot and Bothered went far beyond Canada. From Montreal to Australia, women have reached out, sharing how this campaign made them feel seen, heard and supported.
“Finally, a real push towards helping women at this stage of life. Finally, a reference point so we know what we are going through. Finally, some answers so we don’t have to suffer in silence.”
— Allison, Campaign Supporter
Revolutionizing mature women’s health
The Hot and Bothered campaign was not just about changing lives today; it was about inspiring a changed future for women’s health care in our city and beyond. The Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health is turning this vision into a reality by addressing the gaps and inequities that women’s health concerns face in research and education, and by driving a transformative shift in the way health care is delivered to women throughout their lives.
