Thanks to a dedicated team across Sinai Health and generous donor support, our largest and most ambitious phase of redevelopment is nearly complete, allowing us to better deliver exceptional care to our patients.
As part of Mount Sinai Hospital’s Phase 3A redevelopment activities, the newly renovated east side of the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre was opened in October 2023. This revitalization has expanded Mount Sinai Hospital’s emergency department to better serve the health and well-being of the more than 60,000 patients who receive care each year. The east side space features a number of new, permanent clinical spaces including Triage and Registration, an Ambulatory Care area and a Rapid Assessment Zone.
Phase 3A of Renew Sinai has involved the redevelopment of more than 300,000 square feet of Mount Sinai, the equivalent of five football fields, all while continuing to deliver high-quality care during this transformation. In total, our multi-year redevelopment includes more than 140 distinct projects and is nearing completion in 2024.
Kitchen transformation
In February, Mount Sinai Hospital proudly unveiled its new state-of-the-art kitchen.
With a focus on delivering high-quality, inclusive and personalized meals, the new kitchen is now equipped to serve more than 800 patient meals a day and boasts state-of-the-art equipment, designed to adapt and expand with the hospital’s growth. Revitalized menus offer more choices at mealtime supporting specific dietary requirements. Advanced technology matches patients with personalized menus, enabling them to select meals for the day.
Thanks to the dedicated team in the kitchen for their unwavering commitment to serving nutritious meals for the healing and well-being of those in their care.
